Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Gujranwala has the mandate to conduct matric and intermediate level exams in the districts of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Narowal. BISE Gujranwala was established in 1983 and since then all the public and private schools and colleges in the above mentioned districts are affiliated with Gujranwala Board. Gujranwala Board organizes the SSC and HSSC exams every year according to a schedule while thousands of regular and private students participate in these exams.

For the new students of matric and intermediate classes, admissions in the classes and registrations are open by the affiliated schools and colleges of BISE Gujranwala couple of months before the start of the new academic year. The SSC and HSSC new academic year starts in April and September respectively. Schools and colleges complete the admission process according to the given time.

Model papers and past papers are very important for the students of BISE Gujranwala if they want to get good marks in the exams. Model papers contain the latest paper pattern and syllabus of the board while past papers inform about the questions asked in the exams by the board. Model papers are provided by the Gujranwala Board while the students can take past papers from the market.

Two months before the start of the exams, BISE Gujranwala issues the date sheets of the exams for the students. The matric and intermediate annual exams starts in March and May respectively. Date sheets provide complete schedule of the exams and students can view them at the official site of the board. Roll number slips are issued by the board a month earlier than the start of the exams. Apart from roll numbers, venue of exams, time table and important instructions are mentioned in the roll number slips. These roll number slips are posted to the addresses of the students.

Gujranwala Board announces the results of SSC and HSSC classes after two or three months of the exams. Usually part 1 & 2 class results of matric and intermediate classes are announced separately. Students can view their results at the official site of BISE Gujranwala soon after the announcement of the result as it is uploaded by the board while they can also receive their result card at their mentioned addresses after few days of the results.
